MCWA 2023/2024 Season Board of Directors and Committee Chairs
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors, comprising the Executive Committee and the Committee Chairs, governs the MCWA. The Board meets monthly to review and make decisions regarding Association activities, finances, and all other business.
The Committees are the working teams of the MCWA. The Chairs solicit committee membership from the general membership, and then plan activities for the season.
We encourage you to join us – making friends, enriching your interests, and becoming involved in our community of St Augustine. We are a group of women, celebrating our individuality, nurturing our friendships, using our talents, and making a difference in the world in which we live.
Executive Committee
Pattie nolton
PRESIDENT - establishes an annual theme that reflects the Association’s goals and serves as a foundation for planning its activities. She presides over the monthly Board meetings, facilitates the combined efforts of the committee chairpersons, and gives final approval to various publications about the MCWA.
ellen blasi
VICE PRESIDENT - chairs the Program Committee, which plans and organizes the monthly luncheons. She handles duties in the absence of the President and succeeds to the Presidency the following year.
Kathy Belleville
RECORDING SECRETARY - documents the Board meetings, including reports by Board and Committee members, and prepares the minutes of Association meetings.
CHERI keirstead
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER - manages the communications strategy, sharing the mission of MCWA and telling our story, both internally and externally through various mediums, such as the website, Facebook page, articles, membership emails. and the end of year picture book.
Tracy gallagher
TREASURER - ensures the financial integrity of our Association. She collects and pays out all monies, and presents monthly reports to the Board. Annually, she engages an outside party to review financial records.
debbie Coates
PAST PRESIDENT AND ADVISOR - becomes the MCWA Advisor for the following season, providing support to the incoming President, and ensuring that procedures are followed. She offers advice and assistance, as needed.
Committee Chairs and Committee Responsibilities
THE COMMITTEES ARE THE WORKING TEAMS OF THE ASSOCIATION
The Standing Committees are: Art Show, Care, Communications, Membership, Outreach, Programs, Social Events, Fundraising and Nominating.
An Marshall
ART SHOW COMMITTEE shall plan and organize an annual art show consisting of artists in the Marsh Creek Country Club and neighboring Marsh Creek community.
Christine Matthaei & Lorraine novinger
CARE COMMITTEE will make best efforts to offer MCWA members and all Marsh Creek Community residents, short-term support in the event of surgery, illness, or death in the family.
Cheri keirstead & Molly Courcy
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE shall manage the communications strategy, sharing the mission of MCWA and telling our story, both internally and externally through various medium, such as the website, Facebook page, articles, membership emails. and the end of year picture book. The Website Administrator shall be a member of the Communications Committee.
Adrienne Lyons & Nina Pitkins
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE shall be the first contact for new members of MCWA. The Committee is responsible for organizing the monthly luncheon seating, and shall serve as greeters. The Chair shall coordinate with the Treasurer for membership details. The Committee will prepare and update the Membership Brochure and publish the Annual MCWA Directory.
Mimi iannuzzi & Lisa Mcglynn
OUTREACH COMMITTEE shall assist charitable organizations and families in the St. Augustine area. The Chair shall submit a list of selected non-profit organizations, to the Board of Directors for approval. The Chair shall appoint liaisons for the selected non-profits, and also appoint Chairs for projects such as the Angel Tree and Awards Committee. The Chair will maintain accurate records of donation funds raised and distributed throughout the year. The Outreach Chair shall serve as the Vice Chair of the Fundraising Committee.

PROGRAMS COMMITTEE shall be responsible for planning and organizing the monthly Luncheon Programs. The Vice-President chairs the Programs Committee and presents Luncheon Programs to the Board for approval.
martha Halcrow & Joni Gaines
SOCIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE shall propose events for board approval and then organize the events for the Association members and their guests. The chair shall be responsible for maintaining accurate records of funds collected for Social Events.
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE shall be responsible for planning and organizing fundraising events.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE The President will identify a three member Nominating Committee for Board approval in January. The Nominating Committee’s responsibility is to produce for the Board's approval a slate of names for the positions of Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Communications Chair and Website Chair . The Nominating Committee shall report the slate of proposed officers at the next to the last luncheon meeting. Nominations made from the floor, at the annual election in May, must have prior consent of the nominee(s) and who must be a member in good standing.
