MCWA Charitable Outreach Committee

PURPOSE: To make a difference in our community and connect all Marsh Creek Women’s Association members with our selected local charities.

MISSION: To partner with local non-profit organizations to provide assistance and charitable support to those in St. Johns County who need a helping hand and to connect MCWA members with our charities so that they will have a window into our activities and perhaps find a way to participate.  We believe that together, we are stronger.

OBJECTIVE:  To make an impact by supporting the needs of a small number of specific charitable programs. Our priorities are:

• Children and Families 

• Seniors at Risk 

• Sharing the time and talents of our members through volunteer opportunities 

Each selected charity undergoes a thorough review and evaluation process, which the MCWA Board approves.  Charities are chosen for a 1-2 year funding cycle. 

The Charitable Outreach Committee ensures we are in touch with the charities we support.  Outreach Committee members are appointed to liaise with each charity to coordinate their needs and facilitate volunteer support. 

During the year, the Charitable Outreach Committee brings the specific needs of the selected charities to the attention of MCWA members for participation and support.  This may include volunteer opportunities, food collection, furniture, clothing, etc.  We also host two major events:  The Angel Affair in December and our annual Gala. 

Our charities for this year are Alpha Omega Miracle Home, Food4Kids, and Pie in the Sky.  We will also look for opportunities to make small financial contributions to other charities as we see and understand a need.
