President’s Message

With the rapid rise of Covid infections in St. John’s County and our community, the MCWA Board has made the decision to cancel our luncheon next week on January 12th. We also did not have a robust sign-up for the luncheon. This indicated to us that members may be taking more precautions at this time as well. Our program featuring, Linda Cole, is rescheduled for our Art Show Luncheon on April 13th.

At this time, we will proceed with all of our previously scheduled Social Activities in January, including the Jacksonville Symphony trip on January 14th, the card making class on January 25th and a “Painting for a Cause” fundraising event on January 27th (soon to be announced).

Our February luncheon scheduled for February 9th, will take place as previously planned, as well as all Social Events for the month of February. We are optimistic that post-holiday Covid cases will decrease over the next couple of weeks and months. Our Board is working hard to balance health and safety concerns while continuing operations and social opportunities for all of our members.

Valentine’s Dinner

Since our MCWA January Luncheon has been canceled, the Social Committee will be taking reservations in person for the “Valentine’s Dinner.” The dinner is scheduled at La Cocina International Restaurant on Thursday, February 10th for one sitting at 6:00 pm. Martha Halcrow & Tracy Gallagher will be in the lobby at the Club on Wednesday, January 12th between 11:00am and 1:00pm to take your reservations.

Please bring a check or checks (if you are signing up for others) in the amount of $50.00 per person. This amount will cover your 3-course dinner. Taxes, gratuity and additional charges for beer or wine will be billed to you at the end of the evening. There will be tables available for 50 people. The table arrangements are: two tables of eight, one table of six, and seven tables of four Please be prepared to tell us your First Course & Main Course choices at time of sign up!
