Hear Joan sing classics like “Over the Rainbow,” “For Me and My Gal,” “The Man That Got Away” and many more. Whether you’re a Garland fan or not, you won’t want to miss this magical concert.

DeLand Day Trip

Stetson Mansion’s Christmas Spectacular & DeLand Walking Tour With Gary Sass Of Adlib Luxury Tours

On November 10th, we spent a fun-filled day in DeLand where our two groups each enjoyed a self-guided tour of the Stetson Mansion’s Christmas Spectacular, a walking tour of DeLand with tour guide Gary Sass and a scavenger hunt through the downtown shops. Mid-day, we all met for lunch at The Table, a charming restaurant overlooking a mosaic water fountain depicting life-sized manatees and turtles. Later, there was time left for shopping, strolling and exploring historic DeLand.

The MCWA partnered with DeLand’s Main Street Association to create a gift basket filled with local gifts for a giveaway contest and Gary Sass added a second prize, “Daring Daughters: St. Augustine’s Feisty Females” by Karen Harvey. Congratulations to Anne-Marie Parramore who took the most photographs of local butterflies which earned her the gift basket while photo runner-up, Dianne Batchelder won the book.

A large thank you to our amazing Social Events Committee Co-Chairs Martha Halcrow and Tracy Gallagher, event organizer Susan Whittle and the Main Street DeLand Association for their hard work in creating and executing the day. Also, thank you to Angel Calderon for providing coffee and Mimi Ianuzzi for supplying wine for the bus ride home.

Woman's Exchange Luncheon

The Woman’s Exchange hosted a wonderful luncheon in their covered outdoor garden at the Pena Peck House in downtown St. Augustine on Thursday, November 4th, 2021.

Fried Chicken Kitchen catered the luncheon and served their signature fried chicken.

The event featured local author Ann Colby who wrote “Wicked St Augustine”.  It is a historical book about life in the early days of our special city. Ann entertained us with an interesting presentation and had her book for sale.
