Marsh Creek Women’s Association is Rising Up By Lifting Others!

A Message from the MCWA President, Mary Golly

As a 15 year+ member of the club, I am honored to serve as your MCWA President for the 2025-2026 season. Over the years I have been in awe and curious about the past leaderships as to what happens when a group of women come together to do good things. The first thought I had when I was approached to join the MCWA Board was, ‘I don’t need to work, I’m retired, and I travel a lot.” This is almost everyone’s truth these days and I would be in remiss if I didn’t say that I’m now eating those words because on a personal level, being in service has added a new pleasurable dimension to this phase of my life.

In my heart of hearts, the best part is to be working (if you can call it work) with an inspiring team of ladies who are so committed to their endeavors.

Here is a brief synopsis of our MCWA Committees:

  • Care: this committee is dedicated to anyone needing supplies, meals after surgeries or illnesses.

  • Membership: invites new members to join MCWA, socialize, and make new friends.

  • Programs: bring the “entertainment” factor to our luncheons.

  • Social Events: fun get-togethers are planned to create arts & crafts or just share happy hours and historical tours.

  • Outreach: provides various opportunities for charitable support for our community.

  • Art Show: planning and organizing annual or semi-annual art and craft shows by in-house artists and an artist/speaker within the community.

  • Website and Communications: brings you information with upcoming news and events.

Rising Up by Lifting Others.

Our new motto this year is Rising Up by Lifting Others. Last year’s success is a tough act to follow, but indeed we can keep the momentum going without skipping a beat—not only because of our “Give Where You Live” mentality, but also because in the process, there’s a forged relationship within the St. Augustine community at large to make things better. And let’s not forget that there’s a fun factor in all that we do.

I invite you to peek into the work we’re doing anytime. You’re welcome to attend our Board meetings, held on the first Wednesday of each month, if you’d like to observe. The meetings are held in the Ladies Card Room.
